Monthly Special Offerings in 2010

Your Social Action Committee is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees has approved Monthly Special Offerings for the remainder of 2010. These offerings will be collected during both services separately from our regular offering for the church – a separate plate will be passed earlier in the service. The recipients of these special offerings are charitable, justice-seeking organizations that advocate and promote our UU values in the larger community. The Monthly Special Offering is an important way our congregation shows its commitment to social justice and action.

Do you know of a worthy organization you would like to nominate? Nominations are due Friday, February 12. Forms are available on the website here, at the Social Action table in the gallery and on the Social Action bulletin board. The congregation will vote during services on February 21, and our first Special Offering will be on Sunday the 28th! Thank you and we look forward to learning about the organizations you nominate!
